Default PayPal Debit Card

I believe I heard in one of the Video Tutorials that we should not use a PayPal Debit Card for doing offers.
Could someone explain this to me?

I heard it too, and have read it on a site or two. I too admit to being very curious about this. Why can't you use it? It carries the visa or master card logo, just like a bank debit card. The funds have to be there or in the bank, so it is doubly covered. Doesn't make sense to me.

It used to be allowed to use the paypal debit card or paypal credit card as long as you were using a physical card and not the virtual plug in. I did all of my offers this way because it made it easier to keep track of what I spent on offers and only used my profit from freebie trading to do offers.

Then all of a sudden we were told by certain individuals in the forum community that we are not allowed to use them anymore because the merchants couldn't tell if we were using a real card or the plug in because supposedly it would only show up as Paypal. That always seemed odd to me because in my retail experience the credit card company never showed up it was always Visa, MC, Amex etc. Payment systems don't care whether the card is a bank sponsored one like Chase Mastercard or whether it is a store based one like Sears Visa card, but who are we to question the powers that be right? Especially when they threaten to ban us for using said cards.

I asked a couple of site owners during the hoopla and they said some affiliates were meh about it but at that time most didn't care as long as it was a physical card.

I would actually like to here some input on this from some site owners or some affiliates since I know there are a couple of affiliates that peruse the forum.

I use a PayPal Debit Card for all my offers, I didnt know that I wasnt supposed to? I've done over 40 Trades since I started in April and always used the PayPal debit card. My paypal account is Verified and all the funds come from my actual bank account so maybe thats why I havent had any problems?? IDK Now im lil confused

Yeah I come from a forum that did not allow it. But then every other forum says it's cool. So since then I use my paypal debit card for EVERY single offer that I do since when I do offers, it is on forums that allow it.

This still confuses me as to why we can't but the reason that thefreebiemom explained about offers not being able to tell seems that is could be true, I had never thought of that. But I will continue to use it until I am told strictly not to. I have always gotten credit (aside from the once in a while 'no credit' thing and never a revoke from it too.... )

The IFW sites don't care whether you use it or not. I'd say about 80-90% of the offers accept it, and the ones that don't clearly state that they don't in their ToS. The 80-90% is a guess--I've had my trading partners on the lookout for offers which don't, and every once in a while they find one for me, but not often.

I have had some new traders successfully use their paypal Debit card to do offers.

I think you will just need to read all the TOS and remember, which I think is the reaswon why the forums tell you not to use them, is that you will be using it at your own risk.

I've also always used it for offers, even when we were originally told we weren't supposed to..heh..such a rebel. I've never had a problem using it, and if the offer didn't want me to use it, it just wouldn't go through. No biggie. Like everyone else said, just read the TOS. :)

I will be looking into this topic a little more. If it turns out that using the PayPal debit card makes no significant difference, we will take it out of the rules. When I started, I used my Paypal debit card for 90% of the offers I completed. When an offer denied it, I used my credit card.

However, we were all informed that there was a change. I'm beginning to wonder whether the change was as significant as it was made out to be. We'll find out though.

THANK YOU, LESLIE!
This is one of the reasons I LIKE this forum so much. You, as the OWNER seem to be more interested in finding truth and removing obstacles than in going on some demented power trip! This is a welcome change from the other forum where I've done most of my trading! I'm sure a LOT of traders agree with me!!

Thanks for deciding to look into this matter, Leslie. While I don't use a paypal debit card, I know that a lot of traders prefer to use one....It would be nice to have a definitive answer on this subject.

I look forward to a definitive answer! It would be so much easier to use the paypal debit then to wait for funds to transfer! Thanks for checking Leslie!!!

Leslie-Glad to hear you are looking into that! I think that would be a great help to many people if they could use their debit card. I know I did at first too, until their was the change that said we couldn't. Hoping it would be possible!
